While all of us at Street Foodies Saigon are complete street food evangelists, there are times when you need a good burger. Thankfully, Ho Chi Minh City has plenty of options to choose from! From humble greasy spoon types to fancy pants gourmet burgers, the city has them all. So we’ve compiled a list places for you to try out!
Jakes American BBQ
The joint specialises in Americana and boy, do they do it well. Make sure to get the smoked bacon. I am salivating just thinking about it…. Their burgers are ginormous so make sure to bring a huge appetite! Did we mention the bacon?
50 Pasteur, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
With four locations in the city, Chucks replicates that great American diner burger to perfection. I’ve been eating at Chucks since their first location and it has only gotten better. The menu is simple and consists of burgers, hot dogs, a couple of sandwiches, chicken wings, fries and onion rings. The burgers are sent out to your table within seconds of coming off the griddle which gives it that great diner burger experience.
Also, it’s not on the menu but you can make them animal style as well….

20 Duong 42, District 2, HCMC
These guys made a splash in a big way in the city. Each burger is gigantic so make sure you come with a big appetite. The pretzel buns are the owner’s own recipe and baked daily. Make sure to ask for their burger of the month.
4 Phan Boi Chau, District 1, HCMC
Relish and Sons
With two locations in the city, Relish and Sons are all about the burgers and mugtails. Their signature burgers include a pho inspired burger which is highly recommended. They also have the best burger deal in town. Burger, fries or onion rings and a beer for 190,000VND. Don’t think I need to say any more.
44 Dong Du, District 1, HCMC
105-107 Xuan Thuy, District 2, HCMC
A couple notables:
Con Bo Map: Killer burgers at reasonable prices
178/4b Pasteur, District 1, HCMC
Elbow Room: A solid mainstay of the HCMC food scene. It’s burger was the best and is still pretty damn good.
